Nigerian hitmaker Patoranking takes centre stage for a special headline performance at the Barbican in London on 21st June 2026.
The exclusive concert forms part of a unique Africa Oyé showcase, bringing together some of the continent’s most exciting musical talents for an unforgettable celebration of African music and culture.
Joining Patoranking on the bill are legendary Mozambican band Ghorwane and rising Congolese artist Kizaba
The event is part of the Barbican’s summer programme, Project a Black Planet, a season of concerts, exhibitions and cultural events exploring Black creativity, identity and imagination across the globe.
Headliner Patoranking has established himself as one of Africa’s most successful global exports. While firmly rooted in Afrobeats, the Nigerian superstar has consistently pushed genre boundaries, incorporating elements of reggae, dancehall and R&B into his music. Over the years, he has collaborated with an impressive roster including Diamond Platnumz, Kizz Daniel, Major Lazer, Ludacris and Popcaan, helping further African music’s reach on the international stage.

Representing Mozambique is Ghorwane, a pioneering group celebrated for their mastery of marrabenta, a vibrant dance music style that blends traditional Mozambican rhythms with Portuguese folk influences. Their music has become synonymous with cultural preservation and social commentary, earning them recognition as one of Southern Africa’s most influential bands.
Completing the line-up is Kizaba, an artist bringing a fresh and futuristic perspective to African music. Inspired by the Congolese tradition of La Sape and following in the stylish footsteps of the late Papa Wemba, Kizaba fuses his rumba-rock roots with electronic sounds to create a distinctive Afro-Electro-Pop sound that bridges heritage and innovation.

Together, the three artists showcase the remarkable diversity of African music. This special Africa Oyé presentation offers London audiences a rare opportunity to experience both established legends and emerging innovators in one evening.
