The 2026 edition of The Sunday Times Rich List highlights the growing influence of Black, Asian and minority entrepreneurs across the UK’s wealth landscape, with many of the wealthiest figures building fortunes through global business, technology, retail, sport and entertainment.

Leading the list for a fifth consecutive year are Indian-born brothers Sanjay and Dheeraj Hinduja and family, whose fortune has risen to an estimated £38 billion through their oil, banking, automotive manufacturing and luxury hotel businesses.

The list also shines a light on entrepreneurs whose stories reflect modern Britain’s changing business landscape. Among them is Sir Anwar Pervez and family, whose journey from working as a bus driver after arriving in the UK from Pakistan to building the multi-billion-pound Bestway Group empire remains one of Britain’s most notable rags-to-riches success stories.

Brothers Mohsin and Zuber Issa also continue to represent one of the UK’s most high-profile entrepreneurial success stories after building EG Group into a global retail and petrol station empire.

The food industry also remains strongly represented through Ranjit and Baljinder Boparan and family, whose business empire helped transform the UK poultry and food manufacturing sector.

In technology and gaming, British-Asian entrepreneur Herman Narula continues to stand out as one of the UK’s leading tech founders through virtual world technology company Improbable, representing a younger generation of minority wealth creators building fortunes through innovation and AI-driven industries.

The list also reflects the increasing financial power of Black British athletes and entertainers. Seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton continues to appear among Britain’s wealthiest figures, with his fortune extending beyond motorsport into fashion, film production and global brand partnerships. Heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua has also built a major business portfolio through endorsements, investments and commercial partnerships, becoming one of Britain’s most financially successful athletes.

Together, the names featured in this year’s Rich List show how London’s economic power is increasingly being shaped by entrepreneurs, athletes and innovators from immigrant and minority backgrounds, many of whom built their fortunes from the ground up across a range of industries.
