Austrian-Filipino JJ took home the trophy this year with his dramatic techno-pop-opera hit ‘Wasted Love’. The competition was fierce, facing fierce competition from Israel’s Yuval Raphael (who finished second), Estonia’s Tommy Cash (finishing third), and Sweden’s KAJ (finishing in fourth place). Speaking at the press conference after winning the contest, JJ says “Thank you so much for making my dreams come true. Spread more love!”

Held in Switzerland where their very own Nemo won the contest last year, JJ received a total of 436 points – 178 from the public and 258 from the jury. Some trivia for you, JJ appeared on The Voice UK in 2020 being mentored by will.i.am.

Our very own Remember Monday (also previously on The Voice) represented the UK at the prestigious competition with “What The Hell Just Happened?”. Consisting of West End alumni, Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull, and Charlotte Steele. They have starred in shows such as Phantom of The Opera, Six and more.

Unfortunately they placed 19th, receiving 0 points from the Public Vote. However, the girl group received an impressive 12 points from Italy’s Jury, we’ll take that! The girls took us to 10th position with the Jury votes, it’s unfortunate the public didn’t support us… but what’s new!

The Eurovision held its latest competition where countries from Europe (and more recently Australia) battle it out to see which country has the best song, voted by the public and a jury. Running since 1956, it has seen notable winners like ABBA, Céline Dion, and double winner Loreen.

After the UK came second in 2022 with Sam Ryder, maybe we could win again eventually…
