Rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again, legally named Kentrell Gaulden, has been sentenced to 23 months in prison after admitting to a federal gun charge linked to his 2020 arrest. Following his release, the 25-year-old will be placed on five years of probation and must pay a $15,000 fine.
The charges relate to a September 2020 arrest in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where Gaulden and 15 others were apprehended during the production of a music video. Police found he was in possession of firearms, including a Glock .45-calibre pistol and a Masterpiece Arms 9mm weapon.
Over the past three years, Gaulden has dealt with multiple legal cases in both Louisiana and Utah. In August, his case was moved to Utah, where he has been under house arrest since 2019 due to a separate investigation connected to a Miami shooting.
In a separate case in Utah, Gaulden faced allegations of attempting to fraudulently acquire prescription drugs. He reached a plea agreement in November, avoiding further jail time by agreeing to pay a $25,000 fine and surrender firearms found at his residence in Utah.
This sentencing resolves several legal issues for Gaulden, including firearm possession and prescription fraud allegations. His legal representatives have worked to minimise additional jail time while ensuring he meets court-imposed obligations.
