In Yinka, Where is Your Huzband?, a young Nigerian female known as Yinka fearlessly poses the questions that we all have about love. This is a love story that makes you laugh but also makes you think—it tackles what it means to find your way between two cultures that are both your own. It is funny, compelling and moving.
The novel Yinka where is your husband has been trending on Tik Tok and I thought to give it a read. The novel starts at her sisters baby shower who is also married. The aunties begin to pray for Yinka as they believe it is a cause for concern that she is thirty-two and has no husband. This triggers Yinka to operate a plan to find a date for her cousins wedding. It is an amazing read that will have you laughing, smiling and feeling moved. This Novel is based in South East London Peckham, local to many youths and individuals of africans descent.
Born in Peckham, British-Nigerian author Lizzie Damilola Blackburn aspires to write the romcoms “where Cinderella is Black and no one bats an eyebrow” that she and her friends have always wanted to see but have never seen.
