Vybz Kartel shuts down sold out NYC Reggae Fest

The King of Dancehall, Vybz Kartel, headlined his first sold-out NYC shows at infamous Barclays Center in Brooklyn. 

The two nights were filled with fun, loads of whined waist, epic moments and happy tears. The Jamaican legend brought out his many of his musical friends. The lineup for night one was epic with Dyani, Jah Vinchi, Rvssian, Blak Ryno, Busta Rhymes and of course his musical partner, Spice. Night two pushed the envelope further with Lil’ Kim, Fabolous, Neyo,YG Marley, Kraff, Chronic Law, Kranium, Ishawna, and Skillibeng.

Amongst the 19,000 people at Barclays Centre were VIP guests like Cardi B, Buju Baton, Dexta Daps, Elephant Man, Stefflon Don and many more. They all came out to support the King of Dancehall create another historic moment .Brooklyn’s embrace of the Dancehall King brought him to tears and on his latest track God Is the Greatest, he was visibly fighting back heavy tears whilst still singing “Far mi a come from, what a journey, good thing, God got me.”  Kartel performed many of his iconic songs like ‘Romping Shop’, ‘Fever’ and many more. World Boss’s fans were definitely not left disappointed and were spoilt with amazing performances. 

Kartel was released from prison last July,  after serving 13 years due to a murder conviction. Since his release, the Jamaican legend has consistently been on move and is heavily focused on his global comeback tour. Starting 2025, Kartel mounted Freedom Street on Dec. 31, 2024, marking Jamaica’s largest live music event in almost 50 years. Later in February, he made a special appearance at February’s Grammy Awards, where he enjoyed his first nomination for Best Reggae Album. He was then gave the UK a very special performance at the U.K.’s MOBO Awards, where he was honored with the impact award.  Vybz Kartel is scheduled to perform at Wireless Festival in London on July 13th, 2025.

History was without a doubt made in NYC and it seems there is no stopping World Boss. He is coming with full force to prove why he is the Dancehall King and to repay back all the time.
