Meet TMSKDJ (The Masked DJ) – Ghanaian DJ, producer, and cultural architect who is redefining the boundaries between Electronic Dance Music (EDM), African Dance Music (ADM), House and Alternative. Based in Accra yet available worldwide, she has been active since 2013 and is now recognised as one of the continents leading talents.
TMSKDJ’s stage persona is anchored by her mask, a creative choice she adopted in 2015 to shift focus to her artistry rather than her gender. Over the years, she has opened for international heavyweights like Major Lazer and Major League DJz, while performing at festivals across Europe, pushing West African electronic and dance sounds into new spaces.
Her commitment to community and inclusivity sets her apart. She is the founder of Femme Vibes, an annual platform celebrating Ghanaian female DJs, and organiser of alternative spaces in Accra’s nightlife through initiatives such as OpenHouse Accra. She continues to support and collaborate with collectives including The Weird Cult, Imullar SoundSystem, and Vibrate Space.
2024 was a landmark year. TMSKDJ earned four nominations at the Ghana DJ Awards, including Best Female DJ, Best House DJ, Best DJ – Greater Accra, and DJ of the Year. She also took her sound across Europe, performing in Germany, Italy, Paris, Amsterdam, and Geneva, bringing her blend of African rhythm and electronic energy to new audiences.
