Ex-Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is reportedly in talks to become Gareth Southgate’s full-time replacement as England’s new manager.

Thomas Tuchel, 51, is reportedly in negotiations to become the next England manager, as reported by German news outlet Bild. The ex-Chelsea and Bayern Munich manager has been out of work since being sacked by the German giants after 14 – months, having lost out on the Bundesliga title to an incredible Bayer Leverkusen team.

Gareth Southgate resigned from the top job in the summer following another disappointing Euros final, where England were defeated by a Spainish team anchored by Rodri. Since then, England u-21 coach Lee Carsley has filled in the role on an interim basis, however he has seemingly taken himself out of the running for the full-time position after England’s most recent defeat to Greece.

The Interim manager was clear that he wanted to complete his final camp and go back to manage the u-21s side.

“My remit has been clear, there are three games left and then hopefully I’ll be going back to manage the u-21s side.”

With the international break now over, Premier League football will make a return on Saturday until the next break in the middle of November.
