With half of the quarter-finalists now decided, this season’s Champions League is lining up to be a special year for the tournament.
On Tuesday, Harry Kane and Bayern Munich overturned a one-goal deficit from the first leg to eliminate Lazio, and Kylian Mbappe shined again as PSG breezed past Real Sociedad.
Yesterday, defending champions Manchester City put their tie against Copenhagen to bed within 10 minutes, while Real Madrid just barely squeezed past a Leipzig side that was unlucky not to go through themselves.
Next week will determine the other quarter-finalists from the following fixtures:
- Atletico Madrid vs Inter Milan
- Borussia Dortmund vs PSV
- Arsenal vs Porto
- Barcelona vs Napoli
After what felt to many like an underwhelming Round of 16 draw, it looks like we’re in for a treat when the quarter-finals get underway in April.
