On the 9th June the one and only Bet awards came around and we were in for a great night celebrating everyone and the work that they have been up to this year and last year.
The award show was hosted by the comedian and actor Kevin Hart and he did not let the audience down with his humour.
The Bet award show is all about being recognised for your talent and hard work. Whether it is acting, directing, singing, rapping, sports, song writing or even being a new artist in the industry. It’s a night where we celebrate the winners and everyone that worked hard enough to get a nomination. This year the theatre was filled with many talented people that deserved an award some got nominated for one and others got nominated for then one.

Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/ Inspirationional Award: GloRilla ft Kirk Franklin. Maverick city music “ Rain Down on me”
Viewer’s choice award: Chris Brown “ Residuals”
BET Her: Summer Walker “Heart of a women”
Best Actor: Denzel Washington
Best Actress: Cynthia Erivo
Young Star Award:Blue Ivy Carter
Sports Man of the Year: Jalen Hurts
Sports Women of the Year: Angel Reese.
The lovely night was also full of amazing performances from some of the best artists. We witnessed Leon Thomas, Lil Wayne, GloRilla, Keyshia Cole, Luke James, Miles Caton, Lucky Daye plus some much more. However we also witnessed a 25 year tribute to 106 & park. 106 & Park was an American Hip hop and R&B show in the early 2000 and they finally reached 25 years. Of Course to celebrate 25 years the Bet awards had to make sure they had the best tribute. Artists such as Ashanti, Amerie, T.I. and of course one of the host of the 106 & park show Bow Wow all came out to rock the stage for the hit show. On another hand that was not the only tribute of the night. Jamie Foxx received a tribute and Roberta Flack also received one as well for their outstanding work in the industry over the years
The Bet award show was once again a night to remember. Witnessing some of the best in the industry collecting their award, watching some of the best singers/ rappers perform on the big stage and of course giving tributes to the best of the best. 2025 is not over and 2026 has yet to begin.
