Last night, the MTV Video Music Awards commonly known as the VMAS lit up the entertainment world once again with an unforgettable evening of music, fashion, and iconic performances. From show-stopping red carpet looks to electrifying on-stage moments, the 2025 VMAs did not disappoint.

The VMAs first launched in 1984 and have only grown in prestige and spectacle with each passing year. Over the decades, this awards show has served as a platform for some of the most legendary performances in music history. From Michael Jackson’s iconic set in 1995 to Prince’s unforgettable moment in 1991, and Cher‘s bold performance in 1988, the VMAs continue to be a defining stage for artists to make history. We witnessed electrifying performances from current powerhouses like Doja Cat, Sabrina Carpenter, Alex Warren, Lady Gaga, Post Malone, Lola Young, and Ricky Martin, all sharing the spotlight with legendary icons who’ve shaped the industry. It was a true celebration of music’s past, present, and future reminding us why the VMAs remain one of the most talked-about nights in entertainment.

This year was no different, delivering jaw-dropping performances and memorable moments from the biggest names in the industry. Whether you tuned in for the awards, the music, or the fashion, one thing’s for sure the 2025 VMAs were nothing short of spectacular.

When it came to the red carpet, the celebrity icons did not disappoint. Stars arrived in full force, each flaunting their unique sense of style, leaving fans and paparazzi in awe. But one name stood out above the rest Olandria Carthen, the breakout star from this year’s Love Island USA. Olandria stole the show in a stunning Cheney Chan-Sapphira gown from the designer’s Midnight Collection. Every detail from the shimmering fabric to the sleek silhouette spoke of elegance and bold fashion choices. Paired with flawless hair and makeup, she was nothing short of breath-taking social media lit up with praise, one thing became clear: Olandria didn’t just walk the carpet, she owned it. However, she wasn’t the only one who served looks last night. The red carpet was a runway of fashion excellence, with several stars showing us exactly what needed to be done.

Ariana Grande graced the carpet in a dreamy, ethereal ensemble that perfectly blended elegance and pop star edge. Summer Walker brought her signature vibe with a bold, sultry look that turned heads and sparked conversations. Sabrina Carpenter gave us glam meets flirt with a youthful twist, while Tyla continued her fashion reign with a striking outfit that was both modern and timeless. Each of these women brought their A-game, reminding us that the VMAs aren’t just about the music they’re about making statements, setting trends, and serving unforgettable moments.

Yes, there were outstanding performances and jaw-dropping outfits last night  but we can’t forget to celebrate the artists who took home the awards they truly deserved.

From the powerhouse vocals of Ariana Grande, to the rising star moment for Alex Warren, the legendary recognition of Mariah Carey, and the global sounds of Tyla, Doechii, Coldplay, and so many more these wins were a tribute to talent, creativity, and hard work.

Each award wasn’t just a trophy it was a reflection of the passion these artists pour into their craft. And last night, the VMAs made sure that hard work got the spotlight it earned.

To conclude once again the VMAS did not disappoint and us at The Beat London 1O3.6FM can not wait till next year to see what has changed in the music industry.
