Taylor Swift is putting up record-breaking numbers

April 24, 2024

Taylor Swift is in her own league

It’s only been five days since Taylor Swift released her double new album, THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT: THE ANTHOLOGY (TTPD).

The numbers that she has put up in less than a week are astounding.

It only took Swift 24 hours for her new album to become the best selling album in the U.S.

In just its first full day of availability, TTPD sold 1.4 million copies.

Putting Swift’s sales into perspective

Beyoncé, who released the highly anticipated Cowboy Carter in late March, sold 188,000 actual copies in the first two weeks after its release.

TTPD outdid those numbers seven times over, which puts into perspective just how massive her listenership is.

Of the 1.6 million album sales made on the first day, an incredible 600,000 of them were vinyl copies.

In other words, regarding strictly hard copies, Swift outsold Beyoncé more than three times over as well.

In an era where streaming reigns supreme, Swift’s vinyl sales alone are next level.

More records to come

It almost goes without saying that TTPD is going straight to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, as well as other Billboard charts.

As the next few weeks pass, we can expect Swift to break even more records.

One thing is for certain: no one is going to touch Taylor Swift’s title of the best selling album of 2024.
