NxWorries is finally back

Eight years after their debut album, Yes Lawd!, NxWorries is set to release their sophomore project tomorrow, Why Lawd?.

The physical release was last week, but it will be available on all streaming platforms come morning.

NxWorries, which consists of the immensely talented Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge, is among the best recording artist and producer duos in recent years.

.Paak’s dynamism as a vocalist and Knxwledge’s ear for musicality sets them apart from much of the sounds of today.

The origin story

Yes Lawd! is a cult classic for music fans having not quite reaching the mainstream market, but being undoubtedly brilliant.

It all started in 2015 with the pair’s first collaboration, “Suede”.

The combination of Knxwledge’s soulful production and Anderson .Paak’s raspy delivery instantly made them stand out in the industry.

Yes Lawd! dropped just over a year after the release of “Suede”, and it’s been a long eight years since then for NxWorries fans awaiting another album.

A prolonged rollout for the follow-up

The rollout for Why Lawd? has been a strategic masterclass.

The duo dropped five singles in the buildup to its release, all of which made it clear that NxWorries have not lost their touch at all.

The first single, “Where I Go” featuring H.E.R., came out back in 2022, and has racked up over 33 million streams on Spotify.

The subsequent singles, which featured the likes of Snoop Dogg and Earl Sweatshirt, further demonstrated the duo’s range.

The decision to release the physical version of the album a week before streaming services was also a great marketing move.

It gave their big fans an opportunity to get early access to the album, and built even more anticipation for the wider release.

Alongside new releases from Tems and Kaytranada, we’re being blessed with all the bops this summer.
