Neymar made his return to football last night after being sidelined for over a year with an ACL injury.
The superstar made his return to the pitch for Al-Hilal in what ended as a 5 – 4 win over UAE Pro League team, Al-Ain. The 32-year-old was injured back in October last year whist on international duty with Brazil for a 2026 World Cup Qualifier. Prior to the injury, Neymar had only managed to make five appearances for Al-Hilal after completing a £78 million move from PSG earlier in the summer of 2023.
The Brazilian, as expected, seemed to be in good spirits as he prepared to make his entrance into the game at the 77th minute. Although he ended the game without a goal or assist, his recovery appears to be moving in the right direction as his trademark flair could be witnessed at times throughout his cameo. In what can often be described as injury-plagued, Neymar’s career has led to him being considered among the greatest to have ever played the game. Despite this, some believe injuries may have deprived us of seeing him reach his full potential. Al-Hilal fans will no doubt be excited to finally get to witness what they paid good money for.
