Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Asake recently revealed his new look and a snippet of his new song called “Why Love” on Instagram.
The “lonely at the top” singer disclosed to fans that he took a 30-day break from social media and came back with a completely different look. Some fans initially didn’t believe it was him and believed it could be a PR stunt however he later dropped the “Why Love” snippet and it confirmed that it was in fact him. Fans are having mixed feelings about Asake’s big reveal and the snippet of the new song.
Asake has also released the new music video for “Whine” with the Latin Grammy award winner, Ludmilla. The music video shot by Rafael Carmo paid beautiful homage to Brazilian culture and is full of vibrant, fun and carefree vibes. “Whine” samples the Mary J Blige’s legendary song “Real Love” and the music video has already accumulated over 1.5 million views in 3 days.
With Asake’s new look it will be interesting to see in 2025 if this look new look comes with a new sound. Here at The Beat London, we are excited to see what Asake and the whole Afrobeats scene has store for us in 2025.
