Nigerian Afrobeats princess, Ayra Starr has joined forces with Afrobeats legend, Wizkid to release a brand new single called ‘Gimme Dat’.
Earlier last week, the 22 year old, Ayra Starr, teased fans by posting a snippet of the collaboration on social media. Within the snippet, Ayra Starr is vibing in front of a beautiful sunset to her surprise collaboration. The snippet currently stands on 1.2 million views on X and 2.5 million views on Instagram. Fans within the comments are very eager and begging for a release date for this new single.
‘Gimme Dat’ is Sabi girl’s second single of 2025, following the huge success of ‘All the Love’. This surprise collaboration is Wizkid’s first musical release since his sixth studio album Morayo, which came out last November. The new single covers the themes of love, trust, reassurance and lust. ‘Gimme Dat’ is produced by VybeO and Mikabeatz and samples Wyclef Jean and Mary J. Blige’s 2000 smash hit “911.” The superstar pair melodically bounce off each other and produce a 2025 summer anthem.
The dynamic duo first worked together in 2022, on Wizkid’s ‘More Love, Less Ego’ album with their sensational song ‘2 sugar’. ‘2 sugar’ has over 70 million streams on Spotify and the music video was nominated in 2023 for the MTV Video Music Award for Best Afrobeats Video.
The ‘Gimme Dat’ lyric video was released less than 24 hours ago and has already accumulated over 175,000 views. The official music video will be released later tonight and fans are highly anticipating the Marvin princess’s spectacular visuals to this summer banger.
