On October 25th, the Algerian born musician dropped her new single “Girlfriend” which narrates a story about romantic heartbreak and empowerment. She has since followed it up with an elegant music video featuring stunning low light visuals.
Miraa is known as an artist who speaks truth and honesty in her music and has taken inspiration from the North London streets where she grew up. Over the years, Miraa evolved her style from raw, soulful acoustic sounds, to exploring R&B, Afrobeat infusions, garage remixes and grime artist collaborations.
Not only has she progressed vocally, she has also featured as a songwriter on many hit songs such as “Be Honest” by Jorja Smith featuring Burna Boy, in addition to other hit records from Mahalia, JME and Chip.
Miraa has had an inspirational journey, having experienced a difficult upbringing and left home at 17. However, she always found solace in music.
She is on a mission to help empower more women in the music industry and not let the industry dictate her work and way of doing things.
The artists debut album released in 2023 “Tales of a Miracle (Deluxe)” featured Sarah Dorgan as one of the main engineers. Despite her label wanting her to put more male rappers on the album, she chose women and took pride in working with an all-female team.
