Megan Thee Stallion has resolved a court battle with her former record label 1501 Certified Entertainment. Both parties reached a settlement after three years of deliberation.
Lawyers representing her former label released a statement recently stating that the two sides had “mutually reached a confidential settlement to resolve their legal differences, and they will now amicably part ways.”
1501’s CEO, Carl Crawford also added that he and the rest of the company “wish Megan the very best in her life and career.”
The court battle had started after Megan, 28, claimed that 1501 Certified had tricked her into signing an unfavourable record deal in 2018 and that the terms of the deal were below the standards being given to similar artists in her position.
Meg revealed that she had been made aware of the unfair contract after signing with Roc Nation in 2019.
She was seeking for over $1 million in damages, official details of the settlement have not been made public.
