Lil Baby Gives Up Gambling After Losing $8 Million in Just One Day

December 20, 2024

Lil Baby has opened up about how losing a jaw-dropping $8 million over the course of a 40-hour gambling binge led him to quit the habit for good. In an appearance on Lil Yachty’s A Safe Place podcast, the Atlanta rapper revealed how the substantial loss made him reconsider his approach to gambling.

“I lost $8 million,” the rapper, born Dominique Armani Jones, confessed when asked about his biggest loss. “In one day, probably about 40 hours straight. I lost around $8 million, $9 million. That’s when I decided to stop gambling.”

Realising the gravity of his losses, Lil Baby took decisive action. He enlisted Mike Rubin, a well-known businessman, to write letters to casinos, formally banning him from their premises. “I just do things. I don’t gamble anymore,” he stated.

This wasn’t the first time Lil Baby had faced a significant loss. He had previously shared that he lost $600,000 during a night out gambling with Drake, Meek Mill, James Harden, and Rubin. Reflecting on his gambling experiences, he said, “They say you’re going to lose more than you win, but after a while, you forget about it. That’s the crazy part. I just feel like if I’m lucky today, I’m lucky. If I’m not, I’m not. I win all the time. I lose all the time, too.”

For Lil Baby, walking away from gambling marks a fresh chapter, as he focuses his energy on his music and career, leaving the high-stakes tables behind. Lil Baby has announced the upcoming release of his new album WHAM (Who Hard As Me), set to drop on 3 January 2025. The album will feature collaborations with notable artists such as 21 Savage, Future, Young Thug, GloRilla, Rod Wave, and Travis Scott.
