Krept dropped a new single on December 11th, titled ‘Nala’s song’. Showcasing a heartfelt music video embracing fatherhood and including many fellow-familiar-faced ‘girl dads’ in the music video.
Krept, formally known as ‘Casyo Johnson’, is not only a big rapper in the UK music scene but also an entrepreneur for setting up his own restaurant known as ‘Crepes and Cones’ in 2018. Recently being recognised for his baby skincare brand, ‘Nala’s Baby’ which is valued at £17.5 million and growing rapidly since it was founded 4 years ago.
Introducing Nala, daughter of Sasha Ellese and Casyo Johnson, the co-founders as well as co-parents, started Nala’s Baby as a project while Sasha was pregnant, she was very concerned over the products she was putting on her skin and the pair were determined to bring a 99% natural, ethically sourced, vegan and made in the UK product.
This was a successful venture as their skincare and haircare products are now exclusively sold in many known retailers across the UK including ‘Boots’, ‘Sainsbury’ and ‘Tesco’.
Looking back on Krepts journey from rap to the world of business, he states there is not much education and awareness for young rappers and musicians who gain money and fame.
He stated in an interview with The Independent, “I think it’s good to set examples for them to see that when you get money, invest it or do things with it… if you want to maintain what you’re doing”.
Krept’s new song can be heard on music streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple music, and of course, right here on The Beat!
