Kendrick Lamar proving that they are ‘Not Like Us’
Only three weeks after its release, ‘Not Like Us’ by Kendrick Lamar has over 62 million views on YouTube.
Meanwhile, Drake and J. Cole’s ‘First Person Shooter’ music video is currently at just under 61 million views.
Lamar’s surpassing the duo’s view count proves the very point he made that started this entire rap beef.
‘It’s just big me’
It was on Future and Metro Boomin’s ‘Like That’ where he took his initial shots at Drake.
The line, ‘Motherf*** the big three, n**** it’s just big me’ broke the internet when the song dropped.
Fast forward two months and that line has aged like fine wine.
Despite not having a music video for the song, Lamar has singlehandedly outperformed Drake and J. Cole’s music video.
The song proved that the Compton native is more than capable of making a hit.
Drake responded with ‘The Heart Part 6’ the following day, but the damage was already done.
The consensus on the internet was that Kendrick won the rap beef by a landslide.
Drake returns with a Sexyy Red feature
In an attempt to make light of the rap beef, Drake hopped on Sexyy Red’s ‘U My Everything’ off her new album, In Sexyy We Trust.
He rapped over the ‘BBL Drizzy’ beat by Metro Boomin, but the content of his verse in part proved Lamar’s criticism of the Canadian artist.
Drake can control the damage done from this rap beef if he moves strategically.
Kendrick, meanwhile, is on top of the world right now.
