The New York artist’s response comes after West Coast artists felt he took aim at them in his track ‘The Rulers Back’.

Joey Badass threw some jabs at J. Cole and the West coast in his new track titled ‘Sorry Not Sorry’, which dropped on Monday. The song, released on Youtube, is a follow up to his release ‘The Rulers Back’, where the line “too much West Coast d*** licking” went viral on social media with many perceiving this as a jab at Kendrick Lamars recent hot streak and the current popularity of the West coast sound. The track thus garnered responses from TDE artists Ray Vaughn and Daylyt, each dropping separate tracks in response.

The release takes shots at the West Coast with the line “n****s with attitudes, mad I’m bigging up my city, that’s something I had to do”, in reply to the uproar surrounding his previous comments. He also takes aim at J. Cole, stating “might delete later but I know damn sure that Joey won’t.” This is a reference to the J. Cole album ‘Might Delete Later’ where he dissed Kendrick Lamar on the track ‘7 Minute Drill’, but then later deleted the song and apologised. Many are expecting further response to this new track. The full song is available on YouTube.
