The new single was released via Cole’s ‘Inevitable’ blog page. 

J. Cole gifted fans with the release of a new track on Friday via his ‘Inevitable’ blog, titled ‘cLOUDS’. On the 4-minute track, Cole touches on subjects such as aging, his current relationship with music, and the changing world around him. On his blog, the rapper let fans into his thought process concerning the track, stating “made this a few days ago, then I added a second verse and was like man I got a blog now, I can put whatever I want up there”, before adding “I didn’t have a title 20 minutes ago when I decided to really put this up. But now I got one…”  

The new track once again reminded fans of Cole’s lyrical prowess, and with many doubting his position among raps “Big 3” after the Kendrick Lamar debacle, shows why he has so often been considered one of Hip-Hop’s greatest MC’s.
