The 15th Headies Awards held on Sunday, 4th September 2022 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia, United.
The Headies saw a two-hour delay without any explanation, and the only apology was in the form of a hurriedly organized tacky fashion show that was supposed to entertain the viewers whom they kept up late.
The heads was hosted by Anthony Anderson, famously know for Blackish and Nollywood actress Osas Ighodoro.

Anthony Anderson hosting wasn’t great as he was unwatchable. He made distasteful jokes and was quite condescending. He messed up the names of guest and continued to make jokes about it. He throw in the names of Burna Boy and Wizkid. He appeared uninterested in the event and at a point yelled he wants to go home.
Osasa played second fiddle behind co-host while employing exhausting her American accent. She laughed at some of Anthony’s jokes which must have been difficult for her.
There was also Mr. Ayo Makun who attempted what he believes was a joke. It was such an epic fail and an embarrassing moment for Nigerians especially since he’s suppose to be a Comedian.
While the performances are not yet at the level they need to be, there was a visible improvement at the 2022 Headies Awards.
On the night there was live performances from Flavour, BNXN, Ruger and Lojay which was good and that thrilled the audience.
The acceptance speeches on the night were better than we have ever seen in recent years. We saw sincerity and excitement first time winners Goya Menor and Ibeji. Also beautifully delivered speeches from Adekunle Gold, Patoranking and A-Q.
