Friday the 14th of April 2023 marked the very first day of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2023 that takes place once a year in California – Los Angeles. Artists such as Bad Bunny, Gorillaz, Burna Boy and many more opened the show this year.
Fans were highly anticipating Frank Ocean’s return to live performances, following a nearly six-year break. Frank Ocean was the headline performer this weekend gone, performing on the last day of Coachella’s first weekend. However, the artist arrived on stage up to an hour late for his performance. As a result, fans were left anxious in the audience worrying if the artist would turn up or not. Since then, Frank Ocean has been receiving quite a lot of backlash on social media, as some described his performance as “disappointing”. Fans also expressed the inconvenienced caused, due to the fact that they were left to wait over an hour in the “cold and darkness”.
Following the end to the first weekend of the festival, Coachella has been fined over one hundred thousand dollars, for breaking curfew on all three nights of the festivals first weekend. That concludes the first weekend of Coachella, but it is not ever yet because the second weekend of Coachella is yet to come and is starting on April 21st and will end April 23rd 2023. So watch out for performances from many more huge artists.
