This April 1st will mark five decades of Apple and their innovations that have shaped culture and the way people connect and experience the world. To kick off the celebrations Apple hosted was an exclusive live performance from Alicia Keys at the iconic Apple Grand Central, NY
Alicia is a 17-time Grammy Award–winning singer, songwriter and producer known for her masterful piano playing, Soulful R&B vocals and Neo-Soul Sound and she didn’t disappoint. Keys delivered a set featuring fan favourites including “Fallin’” and “You Don’t Know My Name,” accompanied by strings, guitar and bass.
Alicia Keys and Apple have a long history from performing at the iTunes Festival in both 2012 and 2016, and appeared in Apple’s global Behind the Mac campaign in 2020. In 2022, Keys was also among the first artists to release her catalogue in Spatial Audio. More recently, Alicia Keys: Rehearsal Room became one of the first Apple Immersive experiences available on Apple Vision Pro in 2024.
The performance was not only a celebration of Apple’s history, but also a reminder of the enduring relationship between music, technology and the artists who continue to push both forward.
Happy Birthday Apple and here’s to the next 50 years
