ADM Show Exclusive Guest Mix

7pm | The Beat London 103.6 FM

Wednesday 10th June, the ADM Show brings Brooklyn-based DJ, producer and classically trained musician Lea to The Beat London for an exclusive guest mix.

Lea came up in New York’s dance music circuit the long way – formal conservatory training, years on dance floors, and a growing production catalogue that moves between Afro house, soulful house, deep house, gospel and soul. That combination of discipline and dance floor instinct is what makes her sets distinct rather than just eclectic.

Her residencies and bookings across Le Bain, House of Yes, Nowadays, Soul Summit and Brooklyn Fashion Week have positioned her as one of New York’s more thoughtful selectors in the African and house music overlap. As a core member of the Afrokinetic collective, she has been active in the longer-running cultural project connecting African electronic music to its diasporic threads in North America and beyond.

The production work reinforces that position. Songbird, her collaboration with Muzikman Edition and South African vocalist Tweety, reached number one on Traxsource following a remix from Atjazz, and was later followed by a chart-topping remix from Booker T. Joburg, produced alongside Oscar P, extended that relationship with South African club music. Her reinterpretations of James Brown, Rose Royce and Tortured Soul approach those records not as nostalgia exercises but as raw material – structures worth rebuilding for current dance floors.

For ADM Show listeners, she is a logical next step in the guest mix series: a producer and selector whose reference points overlap significantly with the show’s musical geography, arriving from a city with its own distinct relationship to African rhythm and Black electronic music.
