In celebration of Black History Month, The Beat London is running an art competition for its dedicated audience.
Art, in its infinite forms, is a magnificent expression of human ingenuity, originality and imagination.
As such, The Beat London is running an art competition to pay tribute to the pivotal role it’s played in shaping, evolving and advancing Black culture within communities worldwide.
We want you to get involved by showing off your very own creativity by submitting an original piece of art that celebrates a moment/ figure in black history that means something to you. This can be in the form of:
- Poetry (submitted as a written piece or a MAX 2 MIN spoken word entry, via MP3 file or performed in a short form video)
- A handmade painting, drawing or sketch
- A piece of digital artwork (created via Adobe Illustrator, Procreate or similar digital software)
- A song or rap (submitted as an MP3 file or performed in a short form video)
All entries must be entirely original and accompanied by a MAX 100 word explanation of:
- Why you have chosen to celebrate your particular moment/ figure in black history
- What your piece of art aims to demonstrate/ represent
The winner of this competition will receive a two-night stay at The Wesley Hotel Euston. This will include:
- A +1 to accompany the winner
- Breakfast for two on both days
- One two-course dinner

The winner of the prize will be notified via email and must claim their win within 72 hours of being notified. Once claimed, the Wesley Hotel will be in touch with the winner to arrange their stay in line with availability. This must be booked before 31st January 2025. All entrants to the competition must be 18 years and over.
In any event, our employees, agencies, licensees, freelancers, contractors (and those of any of our promotion partners, associated companies or prize providers) and their immediate family members or households (whether related or not), and anyone else professionally involved with the relevant Promotion, are excluded from entering and from winning.
All entries MUST be entirely original. We prohibit the use of AI at ANY stage in the ideation, creation and editing of your submission.
FULL TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
- Prize for the X1 winner is: a two night stay for two people at The Wesley Hotel Euston.
- Breakfast for the two people will be complimentary on both mornings and a two course dinner is included for one of the night only.
- The two night stay is to be claimed by 31st January 2025 and is subject to the availability at The Wesley Euston.
- The winner must provide a current email address as communication to claim the prize and hotel booking confirmation can only be supplied by email.
- Entrants for the competition must be 18 years and over.
- The winner will be chosen by The Beat London 103.6FM
- Once selected, the winner will be notified and will have 72 hours to claim the prize. Failure to reply to notification within this time period renders the competition void and a replacement winner will be selected and contacted.
- Winner will be contacted via email.
- There is no cash or other alternative to the prize stated and the prize is not transferable, and no part or parts of the prize may be substituted for other benefits, items or additions.
- The name, email address and a contact number of the winner will be requested for prize fulfilment and may be passed to a third-party provider for prize arrangement.
- The competition winner may be invited and agree to take part in post-competition publicity as may be requested by the promoter.
- By accepting the prize, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the competition winner consents that the promoter may use his/her name, photograph, likeness (including his/her voice), hometown and biographical information and statements concerning the competition or the promoter and/or its products without further compensation or notice for the purpose of advertising, promotion, and merchandising, throughout the world in perpetuity, and the competition winner grants all rights to edit or modify and to publish and copyright such details.
- The decision is final and binding on the entrants. No correspondence will be entered into.
