The Cowboy Carter Tour finally opened at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Beyonce took to the stage at her long awaited show which was sold out. The ‘Beyonce Bowl’ at the NFL 2024 on Christmas Day (during the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans game) was a snapshot into what the tour was to be. It was streamed on Netflix, followed by a teaser announcement for the tour, which was pushed back due to the LA Fires.
The tour is a celebration of the Cowboy Carter era, where Beyoncé was finally awarded Album of the Year at the Grammy’s this year, after losing 4 times before. The album also took home Best Country Album and Best Duo/Group Performance for ‘II Most Wanted’ with Miley Cyrus. These awards further validated Beyoncé’s place in Country Music, despite being completely snubbed at the Country Music Awards.
Boasting 32 shows across the United States, Europe and the United Kingdom, it will visit London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the following six dates: 5th, 7th, 10th, 12th, 14th, & 16th June.
The show features #1 hit ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’, ’16 Carriages’, ‘Bodyguard’, as well as her cover of The Beatles ‘Blackbiird’ and her spin on Dolly Parton’s ‘Jolene’. It also incorporates songs from her award winning ‘Renaissance’ album; the first act of the trilogy.
Her daughters, Blue Ivy and Rumi Carter played a part in the opening show, joining their mum on stage for ‘Protector’. Blue Ivy continued to excel in the choreography department leading a solo to ‘Diva’. It looks like the 35 time Grammy Winner is training her daughters to take over the superstar mantle piece!
