Amy Winehouse fans were quick to voice their disapproval of the latest teaser of Back to Black, the biopic about the London legend’s life, was released yesterday.
In it, Marisa Abela was seen singing in multiple scenes, and this drew criticism from Winehouse fans.
There is a general feeling that it would have been more befitting of the biopic for Abela to lip sync Winehouse’s tracks rather than have her try to recreate the late singer’s iconic voice.
Some fans also voiced a concern that the movie wasn’t even necessary to make, as the 2015 documentary Amy already did a brilliant job of chronicling her life, including the many ups and downs.
Back to Black is set for release next Friday, April 12th.
