Teen Labelled Hero After Wearing Black Lives Matter Dress To Prom

For most teens, the idea of prom would usually send girls giddy with excitement at choosing their glamorous prom dress fit for a princess.

But instead of chosing the traditional route, 17-year-old Milan Morris chose to honour some of the late victims of police brutality, whose deaths have sparked protests and the Black Lives Matter movement in America.

Combining the faces of Trayvon Martin, Sandra Bland and Michael Brown amongst many others on her black-and-white dress, Milan captioned the prom photo 'Yes I’m black. Yes I’m 17. Yes GOD is using me to convey a message that’s bigger than me. #AllLivesMatter #BlackLivesMatter #MoveWithPurpose.’

The dress, which has now gone viral, was designed by Terrance Torrance who described it as ‘pretty with a purpose’
