Forbes' Highest-Paid Hip-Hop Artists of 2017 List

Forbes has ranked the highest paid artists in hip-hop. And you guessed it; Sean Combs aka Diddy has continued his streak at number one on the list.


Diddy leads the list with $130 million, and although he has not released new music in the past year, the hip-hop veteran launched his Bad Boy Records reunion tour 2016. This position is also thanks to his partnerships with Ciroc vodka, DeLeon tequila and Aquahydrate water. As well as selling a portion of his Sean Jean clothing company, which earned him $ 70 million making Diddy, the hip-hop mogul he is today.



Drake comes in at number 2, right after Diddy, earning $94 million. Drake holds the title of most streamed artist over the past 12 months. He accumulated most of his fortune during his successful Boy Meets World tour. The 6God also earned millions from his deals with Apple, Sprint and Nike.



Jay-Z is at number 3 with $42 million, who partnered with his wife Beyoncé now make a billionaire couple, signed a $120 million deal for touring with Live Nation. This deal will keep Jay-Z busy throughout the coming decade starting at the end of the year with various festivals.


The list features also Dr. Dre, Chance the Rapper and Kendrick Lamar. Nicki Minaj representing females in hip-hop comes in at 16 with $16 million. She had endorsements from MAC cosmestics, T-Mobile and Myx Moscato.
